What does this have to do with you?
     Let us say you are your flesh. You loose 30 to 40 thousand of them every minute from your skin alone. So, 3 years down the lane you know it isn't the same flesh. You know most of them are new.
     Let us say you are your thoughts/conciousness. Being an intelligent being of whose thoughts keep changing and never has the same set of thoughts. Would…

Is equality so obvious?

The Greeks claimed that they had one of the first democracies, but it doesn't include slaves/women. People were cool about it, no one had any issues because they assumed women/slaves can never be as good as a man. So, people who are more probable of taking a good decision can only vote. 
Cut things to the 21st century, we fight for "equality" now. We assume the kid who is 16 is less probable to take a good decision. So, don't give him that right for another two years. Can you draw a parallel to this from 300 B.C?
Well, if you can't, let's dig it further. So, do you believe in equality because you feel it's the most logical thing? Take a minute and think about what you had for your breakfast. Bacon?
